A Life Book is an album that tells the life story of a child in foster care. These chronological accounts of words and pictures begin with the child’s birth and follow their experiences up to the present time. Each story is told in a sensitive, accurate, and truthful way. For children in foster care a Life Book may be the only record they have of their early years. The gooal of a Life Book is to help children understand their past and recognize their own potential.

Traditional Life Books
Life Book Writers spend an average of 300 hours compiling information for this type of Life Book.  Life Book referrals can be made for youth who are at risk of aging out, whose cases are going to severance, or who may need help
understanding how/why they came to be in foster care.

Life Book Sessions (Individual and Group)
Life Book Writers will guide caregivers in creating a mini–Life Book for their youth in foster care. Supplies will be provided, but caregivers are more than welcome to use their own.
