Children are placed in foster care year-round. In these moments of removal, their backpacks and school supplies often don’t get grabbed. At Aviva, kinship or foster families are able to get a backpack and school supplies so the foster youth can go back to school with the tools needed to be ready to learn.
Aviva Children’s Services strives each year to make sure no foster child in Pima county goes without gifts during the holiday season. Getting enough gifts for 3000 youth is only possible with the help and dedication of our community. Each year local businesses, groups, families, and individuals make this possible.
The Arizona Foster Care Charitable Tax Credit is available to all individuals and residents who file taxes in Arizona. This means you can now redirect your state income tax liability and help Aviva provide much needed resources and services to close to 3,500 children currently in foster care in Pima County.
Aviva has been meeting the basic needs of foster children and families since 1978. We could not have served the more than 6,000 children and families we served last year without In-Kind donations from our caring community.
For over 40 years, Aviva Children’s Services has worked to fulfill its mission to improve the quality of life for children who are victims of neglect, abuse and poverty and are in the care of Arizona’s Department of Child Safety (DCS). Aviva responds to the needs of children in foster care by providing programs and resources to enhance their self-esteem and well-being as well as supplying necessity items such as clothing, shoes, blankets and personal care items.
