Foster Care Tax Credit

The Arizona Foster Care Tax Credit allows taxpayers to receive a dollar-for-dollar reduction in their state income tax liability by donating to qualifying foster care charitable organizations. For the 2025 tax year, the maximum credit amounts are:

  • Single filers: Up to $618
  • Married couples filing jointly: Up to $1,234

These contributions support organizations that provide immediate basic needs to children in foster care.

To claim this credit, you must:

  1. Make a Qualifying Donation: Donate to a certified Qualifying Foster Care Charitable Organization (QFCO) before April 15, 2026, to apply the credit to your 2025 tax return.

  2. Obtain a Receipt: Ensure you receive a receipt from the organization confirming your donation.

  3. Complete Form 352: When filing your Arizona state tax return, include Form 352, "Credit for Contributions to Qualifying Foster Care Charitable Organizations," and provide the organization's QFCO code.

By participating in this program, you can direct your tax dollars to support children in foster care, making a meaningful impact in their lives.
