All of the following job descriptions are once-a-year opportunities to help families in CPS care during the holidays. We all know the holidays are the most special time of year and the most difficult or challenging. We appreciate your assistance and look forward to seeing you.
Adopt a
Stocking Project - this year
we are asking folks to adopt a stocking by providing requested items for a
child. We provide the beautiful handmade stockings and the wish list.
This is a great opportunity for your family, friends, co-workers or classmates
to pool their resources to make the stockings become a treasured memory.

Family Sponsors
– are families or groups of friends or co-workers who get together and share the
blessing of the holidays by providing toys, clothes, food and gifts for the
whole family. This year we are asking sponsors to provide the basics mentioned
above and if their groups are able to do so to sponsor two families modestly
instead of overly generous presents for just one family.

Sun Riders Holiday Toy Parade - Sunday, December 12th marks the 29th year this motorcycle club has put on the toy parade to collect money and toys for the children in Child Protective Services' care. The proceeds go into the Abused Children Fund to pay for the extras the children need and the state doesn't provide. To help with this event click here after October 1st to get the sign up form. Email the form back to bonnie.demorotski@avivatucson.org
Toy Sorting
– there is a need to make sure that all of the toys are gathered from Aviva and
taken to the church and then sorted by age and gender and placed around the gym
before wrapping day.
Toy Wrapping
– Information to be announced. Toy requests are for
families who have children in their care who can provide the meal and tree but
just won’t have enough money to purchase the toys. CPS case managers have listed
the child’s name, age and gender and the volunteer wrapper then picks out toys,
a stuffed stocking and a stuffed animal for each child, wraps them, tags them
and places them in the family bag. These bags are then picked up by case workers
for delivery or are delivered by Santa’s Helpers.
Santa’s Helpers
– are volunteers who have trucks, vans or large SUVs that they can haul bags,
bikes, boxes of food and whatever else has been donated for a family. They pick
up the items to be delivered, the care giver’s name and phone number and a map
with instructions to the house. Deliveries this year are to be between December
15th and December 22th. The whole family can get involved and enjoy seeing
little faces light up when they are standing at the door with presents in their
arms.
